Philimon Gyapong is my name, a hardworking, assertive and discipline nurse with a specialization in
anesthesia, working at Bibiani Municipal Hospital in the Western Region of Ghana. I hold a Bachelor of
Science Degree in Nursing, a Certified Registered Anesthetist, and a Diploma in Nursing from the
The University of Ghana. I had my basic training in Cape Coast Nursing and Midwifery Training College
from 2002 to 2006. I have also studied Tele-Medicine and medical informatics in India with an emphasis
on e-health and e-communication.
I was the secretary of the Western-Central Zone of GNMTA in School, and I became a registered member
of the association in 2006 after my registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. In the same
year, I was nominated as the acting district secretary of the association for Bibiani Municipal Hospital
and was elected as the substantive district chair in 2008. During my tenure of office as a district chair, I                                              assisted to build a formidable district branch of the association in the locality and solicited for funds to
organize massive programs that ignited the interest of members in the district and other neighboring
districts. This achievement was recognized by the Western Regional Council and in 2009; I was voted
overwhelmingly as the regional secretary and then finally elected to be the western regional chair in
2015/2016 to date
