The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association launched the 2022 International Nurses Day on 12th May, 2022 at its National Secretariat of the Association and also run the event live on Facebook.
The occasion was chaired by a past President of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) Mrs. Alice Darkoa Asare-Allotey with the Guest of Honour being Dr. Anthony Nsiah Asare.
The occasion was graced by important personalities within the nursing and midwifery fraternity.
The President of the Association,
Mrs. Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo in her welcome address highlighted key challenges of Ghanaian nurses and midwives and called on the government as the largest employer to help address the issues.
She also assured members of the Association that the leadership of GRNMA at all levels will continue to champion their socio-economic interests.
Prof. Veronica Dzomeku, immediate past HOD of the Nursing and Midwifery Department, KNUST, delivered the keynote address on the theme of the celebration “Nurses and Midwives: A Voice to Lead- Invest in Nursing and Respect Nurses Rights to Secure Global Health”.
A side attraction of the event was the launch of the GRNMA Mobile App known as the GRNMA InfoNet.
The App is expected to help the Association in its operations and make it relatively easy for members of the Association to access their benefits.
Some of the features of the App are:

2. Receipt of Occupational Tips, Inspirational Messages, Upcoming Events and other Notifications
3. Subscription of the GRNMA Emergency Loans and Management of personal loans without stress
4. Submission of benefit requests (Health Fund, Retirement, Flood and Fire) with a click of a button
5. Guest House reservations
6. Easy access to useful links of the Association and other stakeholders
It is the expectation of the leadership of the Association that all members will take advantage of the vast opportunities of the App to be more interactive with the Association.
