
The maiden African Nurses and Midwives Confederation Conference opened today in Accra, bringing together
nursing and midwifery union/association leaders from across the continent to discuss critical issues
affecting the profession and strengthen efforts toward achieving health for all in Africa.
Hosted by the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA), the conference welcomes
representatives from Botswana, Mali, Togo, Seychelles, Liberia, Kenya, Senegal, Uganda, Rwanda, Lesotho,
Gambia, Sudan, South Sudan, Madagascar, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Ghana.
The gathering emphasizes the importance of regional collaboration in strengthening the nursing and midwifery
workforce and ensuring equitable healthcare delivery across Africa.
