Press Statement on The Unilateral Rescheduling of The Meeting With The Parliamentary Select Committee on Health

The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA), after embarking on a nationwide strike beginning 2nd June 2025 and culminating in a full withdrawal of services on 9th June, officially suspended the strike on 13th June following interventions by the Parliamentary Select Committee on Health and appeals from the public. However, the much-anticipated meeting scheduled for 26th June 2025 has been unilaterally postponed to 10th July due to the unavailability of key stakeholders. The Association, while expressing its disappointment, has given the Committee the benefit of the doubt but insists on the full implementation of four agreed items by July 2025, and the rest by January 2026. GRNMA also demands that clear timelines be signed off during the rescheduled meeting. The Association extends its gratitude to all nurses, midwives, and the media for their continued support.
