GRNMA Youth Boot Camp 2025

The GRNMA Youth Committee hosted a 5-day Youth Boot Camp in Accra, uniting 10 participants from the Union’s 10 administrative regions under the theme: “Empowering the Youth for a Sustainable Future.”

Day 1: Arrival & Vigil

Participants arrived and settled in. The day closed with an all-white vigil marking one year in remembrance of Mr. Prince Opuni Frimpong, late Youth Committee Chairman, honouring his leadership and legacy.

Day 2: Official Launch & NEC Engagement

At the GRNMA National Secretariat, Shiashie, the camp hosted the Official Launch of International Youth Day.

Chair: Mr. Samuel A. Akolgo (First Vice President, GRNMA)

Keynote: Dr. (Med) William Okyere-Frempong (Lead Consultant, RoverMED Consult)

Special Guest of Honour: Mr. Daniel Oberko (PSI Secretary for Africa & Arab Countries)

Keynotes stressed entrepreneurial thinking, ethical engagement, and excellence in execution, with the core charge that youth must be educated, entrusted, and elevated.

The guest message underscored that:

“Education is learning everything about something and learning something about everything,” therefore the Youth should always educate themselves.

The day also featured a Nurse Café, dubbed Time with the National Executive Committee, an insightful dialogue with leadership, represented by Mr. Samuel A. Akolgo Esq. [First Vice President], Dr. David Tenkonrang-Twum [General Secretary], Mr Moses Robertson Anyigba [Treasurer], Mr. Anthony Sopaal [Assistant General Secretary], Mr Thomas Lambon [Assistant Treasurer] and Mr. Philimon Gyapong [Assistant Public Relations Officer]

Day 3: Seminar & Heritage Tour

A focused seminar led by Mr. Samuel A. Akolgo Esq. [National First Vice President] and Mrs. Alice Darkoa Asare-Allotey [Former President, GRNMA] covered: The Anatomy and Physiology of GRNMA and Code of Conduct & Disciplinary Proceedings of GRNMA, respectively.

Participants then toured the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park [KNMP] and the Blackstar Square, connecting learning with national history.

Day 4: Skills Training & Creative Night

An all-day Hands-on skills training equipped participants with practical, job-ready competencies such, preparation of detergents, making of fascinators, bead making  and pastries.

Following that was an evening Old-School Dress Code Performance & Art Night. This showcased talent, creativity and above all vintage wear. This was capped with awards for outstanding regions and individuals.

Participants departed energized, committing to apply lessons and drive youth-led impact across their Regions.
