GRNMA on the 1st of October 2025 signed an MOU with Agricultural Development Bank, Ghana (ADB) to provide funding support for the GRNMA SOFT LOAN SCHEME, a flagship welfare scheme run by the Union to provide financial support to its members to mitigate their financial challenges.
The agreement was for ADB to provide bigger financing arrangements to enable the loan scheme to meet the increasing financial demands for its members at the most affordable rate and also allow flexibility for a longer duration of repayment.
The agreement as signed, will provide enough capital to cater for a minimum of GH₵5000 loan request to a maximum of GH₵400,000.00 with a minimum repayment duration of 3 months to a maximum of 60 months at a 13% fixed rate with no hidden charges such as Risk mitigation rate, Loan processing fees, and insurance rates.
This agreement comes at a time when most financial institutions have blacklisted Nurses and Midwives from accessing their loans amidst increasing Nurse/Midwife migration for greener pastures abroad.
The Association is grateful to the Loan Committee for spearheading the negotiation and also commends the Agricultural Development Bank for this partnership while admonishing its members to fulfil their part of the obligation of repayment when they accessed the loan package.
