The newly elected leaders of the Ghana Nurses and Midwives Trainee Association (GNMTA) together with the leaders of the Rotation Nurses and Midwives Association (RNMA) paid a courtesy call on the national council of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association on Friday the 3rd of October 2025 at the GRNMA national secretariat.
The President of GRNMA, Mrs Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo in her address, congratulated all the leaders for successfully conducting their national elections and emerging as young leaders of the noble profession. She added that these leaders must demonstrate professionalism and leadership amongst their colleagues, and also collaborate with other stakeholders and the GRNMA to assist in addressing the growing concerns in the various NMTCs.
The GNMTA and RNMA executives acknowledged the financial support and efforts put in place to sponsor their national elections. They as well took turns to raise concerns such as delay in payment of student and rotation allowances, high fees, payment of clinical fees with its accompanying logistics, insufficient funds to run activities and many others.
In response, GRNMA President as the patron of GNMTA reassured the young leaders of the association’s continual support and commitment towards their goals. Other council members took turns to share their experiences and encouraged the newly elected leaders to be steadfast and to lead their colleagues well.
