SHORT PROFILE OF MR. AKOLGO SAMUEL ALAGKORA (FIRST VICE PRESIDENT)
Akolgo Samuel Alagkora is the 1st Vice President of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA). He is a nurse anaesthetist and works at Sandema (Teaching) Hospital in the Upper East Region, where he serves as the Chief Nurse Anaesthetist. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, he mentors young nurses and midwives, guiding them in making career choices.
Akolgo’s unionism career began at the district level, where he served as District Secretary, then progressed to Regional Secretary, Regional Chairman, Assistant National PRO, and eventually, 1st Vice President. He is a mentor to many young unionists within the GRNMA structures.
Akolgo holds various leadership positions, including:
– Chairman, Finance Committee, GRNMA
– Secretary, Disciplinary Committee, GRNMA
– Regional Parent, Greater Accra Region and Upper West Region
– Advocate for human rights protection
– Ghana lead for Anaesthesia, GAS partnership
– Instructor, Primary Trauma Care Foundation
– Director, Primary Trauma Course
He trains all categories of health professionals in Primary Trauma Care.
