GRNMA AND NMC SIGN MOU FOR LICENSE RENEWAL OF MEMBERS OF GRNMA

The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) at a short ceremony held at the premises of the NMC on 17th January, 2022.

The GRNMA team lead by its President, Mrs. Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo expressed her gratitude to the NMC for the collaboration in ensuring that members of GRNMA were duly licensed to practice by 1st January of every year. She was hopeful that members of the Association will take their required CPDs in the course of the year to gain the requisite skills and knowledge to impact their practice.

The Registrar of the NMC, Mr. Felix Nyante assured the GRNMA of its commitment in ensuring that the collaboration affords members of GRNMA a smooth process in getting their PINs and AINs renewed. He reiterated the need for professionals to be in good standing with the Regulatory body at all times in order to practice their skills without any hindrances.

The National Council of the GRNMA took the decision to pay the license renewal fees of members at its third quarter meeting held in September, 2021.

Members of the Association have praised leadership for the good initiative as it will ensure every member practices with a valid license for the entire year. It will also go a long way to protect members of the Association from legalities related to practicing with expired licenses.
