Criteria for Nomination
- A registered member of GRNMA with valid PIN
- A minimum of 10 years working experience
- Evidence of Innovation relevant to nursing or midwifery care
- Evidence of design and development of an innovative programme/resource
- Evidence of implementation of the innovative programme/resource
- Evidence of monitoring and evaluation of programme/resource
- Evidence of mentorship in innovative thinking and succession planning
- Evidence of contribution to policy/relevant documents/decisions/initiatives
- Evidence of serving on local and international committees/boards
- Evidence of attendance/presentation at seminars/symposia/conferences
Short Bio of Mrs. Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo
Mrs. Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo is the current President of Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association and has over fifteen years experience in Trade Unionism . She is the current Chairperson of the West African Health Sector Unions Network (WAHSUN) of Public Services International (PSI) and the Chairperson of the Ghana PSI National Coordinating Council. She is a Nurse Educator and has over twenty years experience in the health sector of Ghana as a nurse. She holds a Master of Public Health and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Nursing with Psychology from the University of Ghana, Legon and a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from the University of Cape Coast. She is a Foundation Fellow of the Ghana College of Nurses and Midwives, a Fellow of the West African College of Nurses and Midwives and a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She serves on a number of national and international committees and Boards. She has received a couple of awards in recognition of her dedication to the strengthening of trade Unions and her passion for issues bordering on Social Protection, Migration and adolescent sexual and reproductive health. Within her tenure as President, many programmes and activities has been embarked upon by the Association to make it more visible and positively impact the lives of members. She has received several invitations to speak as a panelist for many reputable organizations such as WHO AFRO, PSI, ICN, Action Aid, THET, ITCILO, Peoples Health Movement, Health Justice Initiative and others. She has shown passion in leading the GRNMA and commitment in playing her part in developing the nursing and midwifery professions in Ghana.
